Public Policy Updates
RAEYC is directly connected to the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) Public Policy’s office and gets frequent updates that track movement on critical issues. NAEYC’s positions are non-partisan and issue-driven and are derived from looking at what is best for children.
At the state-level, RAEYC is part of the New York State Association for the Education of Young Children (NYSAEYC). The public policy co-chairs have regular contact with public policy chairs from around New York State.
Locally, RAYEC participates in advocacy efforts to increase funds for child care subsidies. Regular public policy updates at the national, state, and local level will be posted periodically on this website.

NAEYC’s Recommendations for the 110th U.S. Congress
Click here to read NAEYC’s Call to Action (Making a Difference: Excellence in Early Childhood Education) for the 110th U.S. Congress (2007-2008). The Call to Action provides recommendations in four areas critical to creating excellence in early childhood education: a high quality workforce; a continuum of development and learning; a collaboration of systems; and an expansion of access to high quality. The call urges legislators to use reauthorizations of Head Start, the Higher Education Act, and No Child Left Behind as vehicles to address these issues.
